I had to look him up - Argiop...Wow, what a whopper. I had to look him up - Argiope aurantia, sometimes known as the yellow and black spider or corn spider - luckily harmless. This time of the year we get Giant House Spiders appearing around the house. Apparently they come out to look for mates this time of year. I leave them alone as they live on insects.
